Sorry no links, this is truely just for a presentation for an assigment I am doing now. I'll have some more artists really soon, just kinda got behind on postings.
Cole Gerst has such great prints/mixed media pieces, I think I need to do a silk screening work with my Design II, with his inspiration of course. Thank you Laura again for such a great artist.
Sage Vaughn is an artist I came across in a shoe campaign for Vans shoes. Such beautiful work. However with this artist, I think I acutally like his images of children better than the birds. I love how the art is beautiful to look at, but has a message of distruction, mess, and the innocent.
Geninne D. Zlatkis has such a light, fun-hearted styel of working, I love her bird pieces. Her website is simply beautiful, and I love the mixed media style of working, with material and such.
Fred Wilson is an artist who's work shows the racist attitutes towards African Americans in history and still today. PBS has a great video on him.
Heap of Birds is an artist I came across years ago, and his art still has such an influence and impact on my own art and views of society. He tries to bring awareness to history that many try to suppress.
Dan Eldon's work shows such creativity, and devotion towards a belief. His story is a tragedy, such a bright, giving man, killed so young, truely is sad. Great artist to show to classes along with a short video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B8MbQ7PRK4
Paul Humphrey is one of my new favorite artists. You have to go to his site, I just couldn't put all the images I like up here.
http://postcard-exhibition.blogspot.com/ is an awesome site, so many cool artists. Such a great rexource for teachers
